People who scan a code

When someone scans a code made here, we record the time, the country their connection comes from (provided by Cloudflare, which runs our network), and the kind of device (iPhone, Android, computer). To count unique visitors for a day, we combine their IP address and browser details with a random value that we replace and forget every day, keep a short fingerprint of that, and never store the IP address itself. We don't set cookies on people who scan, and we don't sell or share scan data.

Account holders

We keep your email address, your name if you give it, a scrambled (hashed) form of your password, and the codes, designs and logos you create. We use a cookie to keep you signed in. We use your email only for your account, such as password resets, and never for marketing without asking.

Payments

Plans are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which is the seller of record. If you buy one, Link takes the payment, collects your name and billing address to work out sales tax, and sends your receipts, under its own privacy policy. We keep a record of your plan (how many, its status and renewal date) but never see your card details. Link and Stripe keep their own records of purchases, which the law requires for tax, even after you delete your account here.

Bot protection and site statistics

Sign-up, sign-in and reports use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a script, is filling in the form. Pages of this website (not the redirects people reach by scanning) are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track people across sites.

How long we keep data

Detailed scan records are kept for up to two years; your codes' total scan counts are kept for as long as the code exists. If you delete your account, your personal details and codes are removed from our database, though the short links themselves are never reused for anyone else. Backups are overwritten within 14 days.

Your choices

You can download your codes and scan history, change your details, or delete your account from your account page at any time.
